New TM user. When I try to render a video, it only writes a zero byte mp4 file into the selected folder. I tried this with DirectX 11 and 12, no difference. Also tried it with 2023.2.3, same problem.
I tried it with real time only, lumen and path tracer on 25 or 30 FPS, same behavior.
I can however render the frames as a series of png files without any problems. Since that works, it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the Windows media foundation rasterizer (d3d10warp.dll). This is on Windows 11 with a GEForce RTX 3060.
I found this in the log and it is consistent what other users have run into sometimes.
Has anybody seen this before or knows how to fix it?

I just tested this with Twinmotion 2024.1.0 (33265609) and it does the exact same thing: Zero byte file for mp4 export.
Can I get any input on what to do to make this work, it’s a show-stopper for me right now.
Thank you,
Mac
This is a problem you never thought of. Your computer is running the Windows 11 Insider Preview program. You can downgrade it to a normal or beta system (reinstall Windows 11 and quit the Insider Preview program).
I haven’t found any other way yet. This problem has existed since 2021, and due to the concealed nature of the cause, the official may not be aware of this error.
@MC_Jut The issue also exists on this thread, but there has been no response from Twinmotion / Epic Games. Can you please take on this issue and help us?
Since the Update of Twinmotion 2019.05
Some costumer have been exporting empty Mpeg files out of Twinmotion.
This is due to a Windows N Update.
To fix it, update the windows media feature pack for Windows N edition
To find your version of Windows , right click on start button on the windows task bar, and select “System”.
Your computer’s version will be listed there.
Once this is updated , you should be able to export video as Mpeg.
@chiefzhou Those of us in this thread experiencing this issue are using Windows 11, not Windows N. The solution you are recommending is not applicable to Windows 11.
Do you know of any other solutions we could try? Do you know anyone we can tag who could help troubleshoot this bug?
Hi all, I have the same issue of empty mp4 with the 2024.1.2 version. Exporting PNGs is fine but exporting video is an issue. I have a Windows 11 Enterprise in my computer. Did you find a solution?

Hi all, I am having the same issue when exporting video where it creates a 0kb file. Any advice on this? Running Windows 11 24H2. This is a dealbreaker if not fixed soon.
