2021 Epic MegaJam Registration is Now Open!

which one is the learning path that goes live today?

yes the same question I even have where is the learning path and how we will get it

You’ll be able to find the information regarding licensing and publicity in the official rules. You can find these in various languages at the top of the event page on itch. In short, you retain rights to your game, and there are no additions from the EULA in this regard.

I hope this helps!

Please tell where is the learning path for epic Megajam. It was written in website that it will be available in learning portal from today but i cant find it

The 2021 Epic MegaJam learning path isn’t available at this moment. We’re expecting to launch this by 2:00 PM EST. We will update the thread, event page, and announcement blog with the relevant information once the learning path goes live.

Hey folks!

Aside from this thread- the #game-jam-chat & #game-jam-lfg on Unreal Slackers is a great place to find teams or just chat about the event.

Just a Small doubt What if I am creating a game since 3,4 months and now it is almost ready and related to the theme, Is i am eligible for the competition

Would you mind heading over to the event page and reading the rules? Submission guidelines are pretty clear on this front.

  • Submission may include sourced (non-original) assets, provided that (i) all sourced (non-original) assets must be noted, and (ii) such assets will not be reviewed or scored.
  • Submission must not include assets created prior to the Contest period (outside ofnoted sourced assets).

@SouryGame , @SkyeEden

The rules explicitly do not allow Unreal Engine 5 to be used, only Unreal Engine 4.

@ambershee Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This was never the intention for the 2021 Epic MegaJam, as we believe a part of the event’s spirit is experimenting, and if people haven’t already, it would be a great chance for people to check out the incredible features that Unreal Engine 5 Early Access has to offer.

We’ve updated the official 2021 Epic MegaJam rules to include Unreal Engine 5 as an acceptable engine version to be used for the contest.

Though, as we’ve said before- like Preview builds, Unreal Engine 5 Early Access is not considered production-ready. Jammers are welcome to use the UE5 Early Access builds, but do so at their own risk.

I hope you are all excited, we know that we are!

Q1- Should the game have graphic settings , save system or any thing like this with the game to be accepted or considered a valid entry in the jam?

Q2- I know that If I used ready made assets, then such assets will not be reviewed or scored. And logically most people don’t have experience in all fields. So kindly how will the game be judged?

  • You don’t need to have settings, save system or anything like that (but you can choose to implement them).
  • People who don’t have experience in all fields either build a team, or take the “score penalty”

Do you know when the assets from KitBash3D will be available?

The assets are linked to The KitBasher modifier and won’t be released until the 2021 Epic MegaJam kicks off.

As per the rules, under section 6; Finalist Prize Judging. Qualified Submissions received during the Contest Period according to the following criteria:

  • Unique Use of Contest Theme(Up to 5 points)
  • Fun Factor(Up to 5 points)
  • Visuals(Up to 5 points)
  • Audio (Up to 5 points)

I hope this helps!
