180° Spherical Camera Setup

Hello,

I’m trying to create a 180° spherical - or equirectangular panoramic - camera, with a square aspect ratio, but I’m unsure of how to go about that.

Within the MovieRenderQueue, it’s already possible to output 180 panoramic images (see below), but I’d want to also visualize that within sequencer. Without being able to visualize the final result in-engine, camera work becomes guesswork.
