[12 FIXED GENRES] I do not think these can describe most of my games, if I label with the closest genre, then players might be disappointed to learn the game is actually not what they expect

i have to label my interior designer games tycoon because there is some progression in unlocking furniture sets, but essentially it is about decorating spaces. Current genres are as limiting as the tags are.

Ideally I want players to know this info

  1. If the gameplay is original and not standard genre
  2. If game has built in rounds
  3. which vehicles and weapons are used in game (important for racing)
  4. if game supports both singleplayer and multiplayer
  5. likes per plays ratio
  6. if the game fits multiple genres
  7. if fall damage is on / off and similar settings

I would like these to be searchable so if a couple games use particular vehicle spawner, players could find and play this game

likes per plays - I actually mean likes per unique players. A player can like once and play 80 times. But if it has 70 likes per 100 unique players it means more than half of players enjoy the map.

I think some of the meta data set on the Island Settings should be exposed, and a corresponding filtering system should be added to Discover to allow players to find exactly what they want. This includes minimum and maximum player count, building, damage to buildings…

We suggest selecting the genre that best describes your island. You can also use island tags to give players more signals about your game.

What genre is upsidedown escape? It does not fit in any provided categories, selecting any genre would be kina lying
