100% Lumens (video)

Thought i’d test out Lumens in a completely dark scene with no atmospherics, fog or anything else;
Just 3d assets and two emissive spheres and Auto Exposure disabled.

Here’s a link to a videohttps://mega.nz/file/5B1EXJbA#nkCSTgilWUpSZBhfJB6oGSyiFV54shDAOZKijNNTmPY

Anyways, I find it interesting that you have to wait for it to work as if it uses auto exposure. You can also see the artefacts (noise) quite clear even on the highest quality setting.

So for now I don’t think it works for environments like mine here, as it is screen space based and takes a long time for it to work.

It really does require an actual light for it to become viable, which is to be expected.

EDIT;

Would like to note that enabling Lumen changed my FPS from 65 to 41.

No, Lumen shouldn’t need the light to be visible in the view and it’s not primarily screenspace-based. The screenspace Gi is only an additional feature to get more details, not the main way how it does the bounced light.

I didn’t say that Lumen requires light to be visible in the view, I said that you require a light for it to become viale (IE useable).

Either you are wrong and Lumen is screenspace based, or Lumen is bugged in my project.

Have you tryed the same setting but with two point lights instead of emmisive geometry? they work better and it is widely known that lighting with emmision at some point leads to issues. I’ve tested the engine yesterday with a more heavy scene and after activating nanite for every geometry my fps never went under 60 except for some rare fraction of a second once in a while.

Completely offtopic I apologise - but how did you get that displacement?
