The IMU Simulator Plugin brings accurate, configurable Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) simulation into Unreal Engine. Perfect for autonomous driving, robotics, and drone research, it provides realistic 3-axis gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer outputs with customizable noise, bias, and update rates. The IMU output can be logged as CSV file or sent out via UDP in real time.
Built for performance and flexibility, the plugin provides the rapid prototyping as well as production-ready hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) setups. Whether you’re developing vehicle control algorithms, testing sensor fusion pipelines, or simulating robotics platforms, the UE5 IMU Simulator gives you the precision and control you need.
Included in the package:
A modular IMU Sensor Component ready to attach to any actor or vehicle
A full manual to setup the IMU simulator
With the UE5 IMU Simulator, you can focus on developing algorithms and systems — not on reinventing sensor simulation.
Sorry for the late reply—I hadn’t seen your question. Based on your hardware, the IMU sample rate can reach up to 1000 Hz. And yes, 200 Hz is fully supported.
Yes. Two use case: (1) If you use the Real IMU, you can collect its data and send it to the unreal engine component in real time. (2) if you use the IMU simulator, you can collect the simulated IMU data from the unreal engine component and send it to the external receiver in the real world. for details or suggests, please contact zhenchun.xia@amsim.ai thanks.
Wow, this IMU Simulator Plugin looks amazing! The way it replicates realistic vehicle sensors like gyroscopes and accelerometers is perfect for testing driving physics. I can totally imagine it being useful not only for robotics or drones but also for enhancing vehicle behavior in games like Bus Simulator Indonesia—making driving feel way more realistic. Loving how modular and easy it is to integrate!
