Zoom in parallel view

Sorry if this is already in the forum but search only finds one reference and it wasn’t picked up in the response.

It isn’t possible to zoom in the “parallel” view. Is there any reason why not? I want to render zoomed views from an angle other than top/bottom/left/right/front/back, but I can only do it in perspective.

Hi Hamish,
in parallel projection there is no such a thing as distant or near object, so if you zoom (go closer to object), your object is projected same way as before.
But in RC there is a way to “zoom” view in parallel projection. Just hold SHIFT and use mouse wheel. In perspective projection you change this way focal length of camera. In parallel projection is focal point in infinity and what you change this way is rather scale of scene than focal length.

Thanks Kruzma!

Is it possible to specify the camera position numerically? To be able to produce repeatable views other than front/back etc?
