Hey everyone,

I’m excited to share my latest animated short, “Zombie Ship,” almost entirely created in Unreal Engine!
This project was a true labor of love and a passion for stylized horror. Using Unreal, I was able to push cinematic lighting and animation even further than I thought possible.

Check out the video below:

A few highlights:

  • “Zombie Ship” has been featured and recognized on TheCGBros YouTube channel.
  • It’s been an official selection at several film festivals and picked up a couple awards. See full list here.
  • The entire pipeline was Unreal Engine, from layout to final render (except flames and rain).

This is quite possibly one of the coolest projects I’ve seen. The vibe, the dialogue, and (of course) the combat are all done so gosh darn well. The story, however, is certainly the most interesting part. I just wanted more! :smiley:

Stoked you’ve decided to make a game based on the short - can you tell me anything about your plans for that? An FPS horror story game already sounds interesting!

I must say that this cinematic gave me LITERAL chills! There was so much story and intrigue that I was hooked from the first scene. The voice acting, the visuals, the story, and so much more boil together to create excitement for the game being created.

Out of curiosity, are there any key features that you can tell us about for the upcoming game?

Don’t want to reveal too much just yet, but we think it’s shaping up to be something fresh. We’re building on the atmosphere of the short and will be showing the first results soon.
