There is no way to use Zbrush singularly with UE4. You must have a medium program to retopologize and properly UV your meshes or you will have some big issues. I suggest adding Blender into the mix as an open source 3D modeling packages with good capabilities.
something i will give a try having a medium program thanks for that
well, you use zbrush for retopolgy and uv unwrapping, it’s more of a choice if you feel more comfy doing that in blender or zbrush, you can do all of it, even texturing, but still yeah, having an in between all round 3d software is usually a good idea…
Zmodeler brush is straight up low poly modelling, so you can play with that first…
You can technically retopologize with ZBrush. It’s highly discourages of using ZRemesher in many cases because of the way it retopos the mesh. Decimation Master does good work for some props especially more organic meshes such as rocks and rubble.
well… OK zremesher will tend to smooth down on the stuff, decimation master is easier to handle… but you have no polyflow, if you manage to get a good static texture on it’s OK…
there seem to be nice tutorials on zbrush site on how to make low poly stuff…
I’d say as long as it gets me the job done one way or the other, and the poly count is good enough, it’s good to use… zbrush can use it on it’s own plenty, I’ll be exploring that option when I can…
I do usually work natively with 3dmax, but zbrush is my favorite go to tool, it’s was a weird one before, but now I learned to respect it… and the community is strong…
hopefully I’ll churn more of my models I did with zbrush and max
