Hello, is this Z sorting? If so, how would I fix this?
- I have an opaque flat circle against an opaque cement material. Both materials are double sided.
- Raising the circle a couple cm’s above the cement did not work.
Hello, is this Z sorting? If so, how would I fix this?
This seems to be Depth sorting, try extruding the geometry a little or you can try increasing the camera’s near clip plane under Project settings.
Try sharing a wireframe of the scene if possible as well to get a clear idea if the geometries are overlapping
Hello Rhythm, thank you for the suggestions. I still have a bit of Z sorting. May I ask for more of your assistance?
Below is a screengrab of the extruded circle and wireframe.
The Cine camera defaults to near clip plane of “10.”
a. “20” will clip out the shoe.
b"0-5" does not show the extruded circle…Weird right?
Both the cement and circle materials are opaque; no transparency.
When I select the circle, the circle renders correctly.
When I deselect the circle, it renders with Z sorting.
Interesting. Can you post your geometry here? I’ll inspect in other application to see if the geometry is at fault.
You can ask for the assistance no problem.

Thank you Rhythm, here is the FBX.
I went through your geometry. I only see the outside circle and bones in the middle. There was this bone named U, the vertices on that is not attached. Is it all on purpose?
Hello, the U bone should have been skinned to the verts at the end of the circle. This way the circle could be open and closed like the minute hand of a clock.
I still don’t understand why this particular model is Z sorting, even if the geometry is extruded and the material is opaque double sided.
Is there another way to get the same effect of the circle open and closing like the minute hand of a clock?
Oh this is interesting. I will get back to you on this. I think there should be another way to do that using materials but I’m not sure.
Thank you very much, Rhythm.
Thank you, Rhythm. That worked!!!
