hi guys,
I have paid for a monthly subscription via steam and have so far been unable to use it on my laptop due to this error. It happens when I try to click Normal detail.
I have gtx980m cpu, with latest nvidia drivers, have restarted, reinstalled, checked forums nothing. ~So far i cannot use it and am wasting money as my license will end. I thought this gpu would work as it works with every other major software well.
Please if anyone has any info let me know
Occasionally I get an error telling me it could not ‘eject my cpu’
Thanks
Hi asdasd
Please fill out you signature with the HW desciption of your PC: ucp.php?i=profile&mode=signature
What windows are you using there ?
When you look at RECONSTRUCTION->SETTINGS->GPU to USE, what do you see there, is your GPU listed ?
Hi Milos, thanks for reply, when i click on choose i get error - No Sufficient CUDA Capable Devices Found
Occasionally I get a crash altogether and i have to restart the application. I have the latest drivers for my card. I am on windows 7 /64bit with i7 cpu and 16gb ram using RC 1.0.2.2250.
I also get an error message telling me that scripts cannot be run every time i go near anything in settings. I do not have internet explorer installed but have emptied the cache as per the instructions on this forum, I am still getting this error, any information would be much appreciated.
At the minute the gpu error is making it completely unusable which is sad as I have lots to process.
thanks
Hi asdasd
after you installed the GPU drivers, did you RESTART the PC so that all changes would be applied properly ?
I highly recommend you to use this GPU driver uninstaller: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis … nload.html
proceed with uninstallation and then install the newest GPU drivers, as W7 was not very good on the cleanup of data from registers…
hi milos,
ran the guru3d uninstaller, restarted, reinstalled latest driver from nvidia, restarted. Same error…
Sadly i am about to give up, come to the conclusion that rc does not work on gtx980m. I could perhaps try older driver version but do not want to cause problems for other applications.
Also getting running scripts error when hovering mouse over any settings options that still does not go away after deleting browser history
If you know of any other things to try pls let me know or if anyone else managed to make it work with nvidia m cpu please let me know
tx
Hi asdasd
there are a lot of Nvidia Mobile GPUs users and it is working flawlessly… have you installed all Windows 7 updates ??
have you disabled the onboard Intel GPU in BIOS ? ( if present )
Regarding the scripts, it is related to certain JAVA & Windows updates mismatch that causes this sort of issues. try to update Java and Windows to their latest versions…
hi milos, disabled intel 4600 in control panel, assigned cuda gpus in nvidia application settings to gtx980m (i think this was the critical step, by default it was using the gtx980m) updated javascipt, ran windows updates.
All good now, other than scripts error that is still popping up ( i can live with that, may try to reinstall IE to see if it helps).
Thanks for your help, excellent application, saving me days compared to other products and the results are so much better. Will be renewing my license.
Hello asdasd,
Regarding the JavaScript error messages:
This happens on Steam builds and I have a working solution for you,
PM me or write me on mermar@capturingreality.com.
I was able to fix this issue as I had it myself. In NVIDIA control panel, under manage 3D settings, go to Program Settings tab and find RealityCapture.exe here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RealityCapture\RealityCapture.exe
Then specify settings for this program, select CUDA - GPU’s and make sure your NVIDIA GPU is selected. Make sure the checkbox is also selected. Then reopen RC and it should work.
Best,
Chris
Just a note, current NVIDIA graphics driver for my Quadro card is showing CUDA errors. We rolled back to older version (350.12) and could get RC to see the CUDA GPUs again.
