Why has the extrude bug not been fixed after over 2 years? I am looking and the error

It seems to be over 2 years old and with quite a lot of people complaining of the same issue and there’s also an extrusion crashing bug in 2020.
So is there actually a fix for this?
I just want to be able to extrude and can’t even do it on and empty level.

NVME with plenty of space -not that I should even need pagefile
3060Ti with latest drivers
Windows 10 legit up to date
This is a built in plugin, as a complete noob I don’t know how to fix it and I have now lost an entire night of learning trying to fix it and I will be losing more and more until I find a solution.
Someone at Epic must have a solution by now after over two years. If there is a solution then why is it not easy to find?
I’ve even resintalled the engine, same thing. Is there at least code I can replace or the plugin, is there anything at all I can do here?
I’d like to know if it isn’t going to work so I can just completely ignore it and do it in a program that is capable of it, I would like to use the Unreal Editor but if it’s broken and bugged there’s not point in wasting time trying to do things it is incapable of.
Is this as even as simple a case that there’s a plugin update that hasn’t gone through and me and others get caught in it?
