XMP work flow misaligned cameras

Hi.

I have reconstructed one frame of a sequence from 8 cameras. I have exported the xmp files copied and renamed them to a different frame and reconstructed that. If I then export the cameras in fbx or Maya format they are in slightly different places. Should they not be in the same place as there position was set by the XMP file?

If I look at the two XMP files in a txt editor they are identical.

I have included a screen shot from Maya these two cameras are the same camera from two different reconstructions built with the same XMP file.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Hi ,

I am also getting this issue when using LOCKED camera positions, the drift is not letting us create an accurate facial reconstruction. Probably from the same dataset you are using.

Hi erikjameschristensen
Can you make a screenshot of ALIGNMENT settings ?

Hi erikjameschristensen

please contact me directly on my email…

Hi erikjameschristensen
Please look at how you export the data. Please try to export the data with the PROJECT OUTPUT ( local1: euclidean )

Hi.

I don’t have that option editable? I see it buts there is no tab to change the option.

Hi Clutterbuck
is this export from the dataset where you have created the reference XMPs or ?

Hi.

This is the export mesh dialog. Yes this is the project that generated the XMPs.

Cheers

Hi Clutterbuck
Please take a look at the solution in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=954

I am having the same problem that was. My model is not importing aligned to the cameras w/ the locked XMPs. The cameras are in a different position relative to the ground plane than they were in the original file. I tried to follow the above instructions to export my geo w/ the “Project output” coordinate system but the drop option is not available. I have searched and not found the link to the thread referenced above.
