i have same exact problem with this click here im using Logitech F310 in xinput mode
so the gamepad is fully working in viewport, but when i play it, it doesn’t even detect the gamepad (not showing in showdebug input)
the only solution for now its restarting my pc, but its just temporary, after closing ue4, this problem reappear again
is there any permanent solution because the gamepad is working well in ue4 viewport, but somehow its not detected at all when i play it except if i restart my pc without unplugging controller
the driver is uptodate (windows x360 controller driver, there is no logitech spesific driver)
this problem still appear on new clean project
As you didn’t selecting a project version, what version of the editor are you using? Have you tried using any other software to detect controller input when this issue occurs to ensure that the issue is with unreal and not the gamepad itself?
as i said above, the gamepad is working perfectly all the time in viewport, and any game that support xinput gamepad and its “hot-plugable” plug and just work
but in play/PiE/any preview/launch modes and packaged project, the gamepad is ONLY WORK when i plug it before even turning on pc, after unplug and re plug again, the gamepad suddenly not work anymore, soo its like the gamepad is not “hot plugable”, but remember its still works perfectly in viewport and any other games
This seems like an issue with the gamepad itself. Unfortunately we don’t have this device to test with and cannot reproduce the issue for that reason. This means we also can’t determine what the issue is or fix it.
I had a similar problem, but when I used x360ce and copied it into the binary folder of the package project and loaded the game settings to the file it got connected…
my device is asuz gamepad … x360ce you can google … just thought it might be your problem …hence shared …

I have the same issue.
Using an Xbox 360 controller in 4.25.
Full support in editor view, no response in game mode. Restarting PC and everything works.
I dont think its an issue with the controller as mine is a different one.
