I’ve had a consistent problem with Unreal engine not recognising controllers within the editor, it works on my laptop but on my workstation it has failed to recognise controller inputs. I bought a Xbox series controller recently and have tried to get this to work (fresh start with it) and it has still not recognised it any solutions to this problem would be fantastic. (using it within games works fine, just not within the Unreal editor)
I’ve had similar results. I’m using an XBox One controller, which I tested to make sure is working in a couple games on my desktop. It does connect via standard USB Controllers, specifically XBox one controller on Windows 11 built in for it driver for it.
I have been trying to get the analog stick results with no values. However, what was trully wierd, was that on at least one occassion while trying to connect it, it did work to actually change selections in the editor panels, acting like up and down selection on the keyboard. However, even at this time, the engine itself showed no data for it.
I’d really like to know if anyone has any suggestions for this.
@Battered_Walrus I do recommend checking your windows device list to see if listed.Bluetooth & devices, part of the more modern settings in windows sucks. it should still show the controller but nothing else. If you go to the old control panel and select → All Control Panel Items > Devices and Printers, you should see your controller. Right click for game controller settings and then click properties, then the Test tab. to make sure the controls are being picked up.
Beyond that I’m at a loss.
