Launcher should start immediately. IMMEDIATELY!!! Not after 400-1000 Mb downloading. My network traffic is only 15Gb per month. Fking what are you thinking about? I’m crazy. Optimize it!

The launcher leaves a lot to be desired. It’s usually easier to just not use it at all. I believe there is also a community alternative.
Just run the engine directly, that way you won’t need to use the launcher. And just close the launcher if it starts up, I have a similar problem because my internet is also capped but its pretty easy to get around it if you give a little thought.
path should be something like this:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\4.14\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor.exe
There’s a little Perforce trick to make Editor stop opening the launcher at startup;
Just add to the engine folder a perforcebuild.txt file, look in Allar’s blog, he explain it better there
