so I make a new project, i import the FBX fine, but then the next one and the one after ect show up with the same name but they contain the correct animation.
I had the same error, my character’s file had a clear name and the editor, for some random reason, named them Chest_
and then the last part of the asset like Skeletal_Mesh
so I had a character mesh named Chest_Skeletal_Mesh
. The funny thing is I have a CHEST
in my game and somehow it went to that!
If you are in 5.5 then just use the new bulk renamer they put in.
This is a minor problem (unless it causes crashes) and it shouldn’t be big of a problem.
yes,5.5 for just me its a minor annoyance but when teaching a class its a major point of confusion .
Oh, if you’re teaching a class then I get why it can be such a disturbance, but this is also a good opportunity to teach them how to bulk rename. But for me, I have no idea why this does this either.
