I have substantial experience as Linux server administrator and programmer, some with 3D design and zero streaming content. The objective of our project is to place a 7-story building, filled with 3D models, on the web.
Free Open Source 3D Model of Dealey Plaza
The only requirement for the client side is a web browser, plus perhaps a plugin.
We have the inside objects: office furniture, lunch room, etc. Being volunteer based, they are being created with different 3D tools: 3ds Max, Maya, SolidWorks, Blender, etc. Will they have to be converted to a common 3D format?
Is this a common scenario? Does it make sense?
TIA,
