Hello everyone, I seem to be having trouble with my world’s lighting. I have a day/night cycle set up, and at night, much of my landscape (and a few other items) are still being lit by the sun despite the sun being under the map. I am positive it is the sun because if I change sun color, the color at night on the surface changes.
As you can see, much of my landscape is still being lit. I also have a large ocean with an opaque material under my landscape that should at least be blocking any possible lighting, but that is not the case. Throughout the whole day in my day/night cycle, it is always lit during the night, and I need to find out why. Can anyone help me out with this?
Well, setting it to two sided didn’t seem to work, I won’t follow the tutorial you listed because I am using an advanced day/night system, but I’ll just dim the sun at night like you suggested.
The reason things are being lit at night is because its not truly night, and so the sun is still casting light from under the map. The landscape is one sided polygons and so the light will shine through it and light the landscape and everything else like you are seeing. The best way to remove that is to disable the suns lighting when it passes over the horizon.
