Hi, previously in UE4 if there were no relevant objects within an outliner folder (e.g. because a sublevel was hidden, or because you have Only In Current Level ticked as a filter), the folder would be hidden in the World Outliner.
However now the entire folder hierarchy is visible permanently:

This is frustrating in large levels with large folder hierarchies, as the World Outliner cannot be effectively filtered to concentrate on just actors in the level.
Please could this behaviour be restored, via an option if necessary - or if there is a magic tickbox we’ve missed, that would of course be much appreciated
I wonder if there is a way to manage this somehow.
Unreal has plenty of documentation but tried looking in the unreal doco for UE5 outliner management but could not find an answer.
Also tried finding blogs or videos on the topic but could only find outdated information.
Maybe the Unreal Engine 5 UI needs an extra filter “Hide Folders for Unloaded”

I also requested this on UDN and an Epic dev fixed/added the option in UE5-Main CL 20686047.

You should be able to see the option in 5.0.3 I think - however we may have specifically integrated that CL in which case you might need to wait until 5.1 or integrate the CL yourself.

Thank you for that information. Looking forward to this feature.
I also had a look at Level Instancing and Packed Level Actor to manage large amount of assets in open worlds Level Instancing in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.0 Documentation
I did break my project whilst trying level instancing and Packed Level Actor, must have done something wrong so had to reverted my changes via source control. I will have to learn how to better use Level Instancing and Packed Level Actor.
The Unreal Documentation for this needs more concept explanations, a lot of info on “how” but too thin on the “why”.
