(World Machine) Weird terrain LOD issue

Hey guys,

Problem 1: So I’ve got an issue with my map. I’ve created a 16x16km terrain and the terrains load in nicely via the World Composition tool. However, the LODs appear greyed out until I move closer to them in playmode. In editmode they appear as planned.

So, how do I make the material appear on the terrain LODs even when far away? Any suggestions? Got any tips on how to reduce the sharpness of the LODs aswell, as in how spiked they appear from a distance?

Problem 2: Along with this LOD issue, the trees I’ve used wont render from a distance, only about 100m away from the character. I’ve fooled around with all the foliage parameters to no avail; how should I go about making massive forests that the player can view from a mountaintop and onto other terrain LODs?

I will upload pictures once I’m home.
Ps: Im not sure if I posted this in the right section.

Thanks for reading,
Sim

Here’s what’s happening in-game: I’ve loaded the nearby LODs, except for the one in the corner. It appears greyed out, just like the other terrains that aren’t loaded in (on the other side of the mountain etc) appear. You can also see the low-resolution jaggedness of the mountaintops; does the level of detail of the LODs prevent this bad look, or is there another workaround? Anyways, I would love some tips on how to make the material appear even on the LODs far away.

I fixed the tree issue; the cost of the trees were too high. Any solutions for the LOD color being grey?
