Sorry if this is a repost. I searched this forum for “video,” “mpeg,” and “mp4” and didn’t find a thread. I also searched the roadmap on Trello and there are no related tickets.
The video playback in UE4 is just generally broken. I would format this as more of a “bug report” than a “feature request” but it’s hard to narrow down what the bug is, exactly. Playing an MP4 (in any combination of codecs and resolutions) works less than 50% of the time. There are some scattered threads about the issue elsewhere (example) but the general issue of video playback seems to be going largely unnoticed. So I thought a feature request would make sense, since video playback is a fairly standard feature these days and I would really like to at least play an intro movie.
