Hey everyone, maybe this has been already discussed. For us that have made custom MH assets that reside in the common folder, how do best deal with this? Move everything manually to other folders - will that work or risk breaking things?
Since some things like the underlying skeleton is locked, etc. I’m no expert on how everything is connected in MH so beginner question, just don’t want to risk breaking my custom metahumans while using the new built-in MH editor in 5.6
This will depend on what changes you’ve made to the common assets, not everything will be replaced, only what is needed. The best option, in my opinion, is to backup your project before going ahead with the assembly. After the assembly is done you can verify which assets were updated to see if any of your modifications were undone. You have the option to reload any asset that was modified.
If you’ve identified that you have changes you don’t want to loose you could rename your current Common folder before assembling like you suggested, this should work just fine but will end-up with a lot of duplicates so it really depends on your use case.
