My use case is investigating car crashes. Generally, simple aerials or orthomosaics are all I need, but on occasion I have need of 3D road surface models upon which to run simulations, or point clouds to establish line of sight considerations. I’ve had pretty good results using a DJI Mini 2 to obtain aerial video of roadways, and then using the automated frame extraction and processing tools.
However, I’d like to improve the overall quality of the solutions by using ground control software to fly preprogrammed grid patterns. I also recently got an Emlid Reach RS+ RTK GPS survey setup, and would like to integrate ground control points into that workflow, so that things like scaling and orientation are taken care of.
Any suggestions for the best software for flight planning in this context?
