Workflow for modular modeling complex architectural structures

Hello, my name is Dave,

im am trying to build a level as a portfolio piece. It should contain an island with a cathedral/church-like, gothic building on it. Im planning on approaching it by modular modeling.

I have already done some rough greyboxing for the level design, proportions and so on.

What i am struggling with is the general workflow from greyboxing in UE over the refined modeling of the single pieces, to texturing them. Is UE capable of doing it all, or should i better do the refined modeling for example in another 3D program?

Hey,
my advice would be to do all the modeling, UVing, texturing, etc. in other programs. Where UE5 has made big steps in including those things in the modeling mode, it still has a long way to go. You will have a hard time in trying to work all of that out and to get it to look correct.
Let me know if you need advice on which programs to use for each step, and I can give you my recommendations.
