Workflow 3dmax to unreal engine?

Im working now more than 1 year with 3dsmax, substancePainter and the unreal engine4 , creating only static meshes. Since few weeks i am trying now working with animations. Creating bones, and making animations in 3dmax is not the problem, but importing and make them working in ue4.
my problem is,
After importing my assets, i have allways meshes splittet up in different parts (example: a head, a body, a leg). There is a skeletton, and animation is working after putting all meshes together in ue4. But, how can i prepare the 3dmax animation and Mesh to import it in ue4 as one working animation with a complete character?
