Workaround for photos with black in them ?

I am looking for a workaround where some features in my photos are black(ish) and consequently they do not texture. My photos are captured in RAW and I have Photoshop and Lightroom.

Hi there!

Can you post a sample?

Generally, you can preprocess your RAW photos in Lightroom and Photoshop. Raising the shadows and lowering the highlights is fine. Changing the overall exposure is also OK. Just keep in mind that it will influence the final texture.

We just don’t recommend any geometrical changes to the images, like cropping and undistorting the images.  It can throw off the alignment process in RC. RC will handle undistortion on its own.

Thanks for the advice Jakub.

I took a closer look and I realised that in editing the Mesh Model I had erased several triangles by accident as a result of the Advanced Selection Tool Edge threshold multiplier value being set too low.
