hello, I am incredibly new to Unreal and working right now only with the tutorials. I have UE 4.25 on my computer and the projects for the tutorials are either 4.23 or 4.24. I really don’t want to download an outdated version just to run these projects (space is very important on the computer I am working on) so just wondering if I am missing a bit of information in order to create these projects or if anyone knows of a work around. I am sorry if this question has already been answered (if you can point me in the direction of that post it would be very helpful since I couldn’t find anything) and thank you for reading.
Has this issue been resolved? if not is the project example in your vault or just sitting loose on your computer?
If in vault the epic launcher will not allow you to create project, but if you navigate directly to C:/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/Launcher/VaultCache/ (assuming you haven’t moved it to a better location) look under the project name…then for safety copy the data folder and place somewhere else, rename etc. inside the data folder is the exe to either open project or launch game, it will allow you to open with 4.25, things may break, but you might be lucky, I just opened a 4.11 project in 4.25 … with no real issues. Good luck.
