word of WARNING for mixamo rigs

UE 4.20 now appears to import the ‘mixamorig’ prefix for mixamo skeleton, so existing rigs and animations will no longer match with pre-4.20 rigs… either reimport your rigs with the new rigs, or change any new anims to the old rigs (no prefix)… do it now or pay for it later :slight_smile:

Hello, Sorry for my stupidity. What do you mean by prefix?
I am in 4.19 and have a couple Maximo characters. Im using them to learn what to do in the engine and stuff. I don’t have 4.20 However, that doesn’t mean I wont have it later. And would like to know what you mean by this please?
If i was going to guess, it imports the name mixamorig to the name of it or something?

hey, no problem… B4 when a mixamo rig came in, it is as you see the skeleton now, hips, spine, spine1, etc (as well as the animations)… but I started with a blender file with a mixamo rig… now… I had to redo and re-import one of my rigs, and when I did, the skeleton now came in mixamorig_hips, mixamorig_spine, etc…

so lets say you just brought a mixamo rig into 4.19… the skeketon would be hips, spine, etc… but if you ever got a new animation for your rig… it would now come in as mixamorig_hips etc… you could still retarget your anim, but I like when things mesh together smoothly rather than having to jump thru hoops to get there… so yes, it imports the name mixamorig onto every bone now, and it didn’t do that B4 4.20…

Most likely this same bug.

ahh… you’re probably right… well I have some work to do to get back to step one… sooooo import into 420.1 should work as B4 I guess…. so… nevermind… :slight_smile:
