Women in Games Panel at Unreal Fest 2024 – Let’s Talk Mentorship & Support!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to highlight a really inspiring panel from Unreal Fest 2024: “Women in Games: Finding Mentorship and Support in the Industry.” It brought together some incredible voices in the space, including our own Tabitha Graves (UE Business Development Manager, Epic Games), Jen Oneal (top chef and CEO at Magic Soup Games), Tina Hernandez (CEO and Production Director of Sword and Wand), and Grace Zhou (Founder of NextGen Gaming Club and Director of Corporate Development at Scopely).

The panel focused on how mentorship and peer support from other women in the industry has shaped their personal journeys and the growth of women-led studios. It was honest, encouraging, and a great reminder of how impactful community and shared experience can be—especially in a field that’s still working toward greater equity and inclusion.

A few key takeaways that really stuck with me:

  • The value of mentorship
  • Growing up with your team and how important is it to celebrate your achievements
  • The visual representation of self worth
  • And how to plan your next career move

If you had a chance to catch the panel, what did you think? Any moments that stood out to you?
Or—if you’ve experienced mentorship in your own career, how has it shaped your path?

Let’s keep the conversation going. :speech_balloon::sparkles:
