Wish list of UE5 for R&D engineers using C++ on Linux

It is very nice to know that Epic Games has a vision to develop Unreal Engine as open-source solutions for content, interactive experiences, and immersive virtual worlds besides gaming. As R&D engineers of simulations using C++ on Linux, we have some needs and hope that Epic will support our need one day. Other people are welcome to add your wish.

  1. Content Examples (sample projects to demonstrate UE features) on Linux, esp. more examples using C++ and HLSL.
  2. Some examples to show porting details from well-know algorithms to UE, including design decisions and performance tuning. The recent feature of Niagara fluid using FLIP is a good potential example.
    
  3. Better documents, more examples and/or textbooks for familiar UE’s software architecture and programming development.
    
  4. Same level supports like Windows and Mac on Linux, e.g. Epic Games launcher, examples, Marketplaces, and tutorials.
    
  5. Some Epic engineers support Forum and Developer Community.
