[WIP] Space Dust Racing: Top-down galactic party racing mayhem

We’ve just released our latest gameplay video. Things have come a long way in 2 months!

As always if you like what you see, please share with friends and get involved at our dev blog: http.com

Looks really cool and nice example of UE4 doing ‘other stuff’. Thumbs up!

We recently received news that we’re now Xbox One developers for the ID@Xbox program. Everything is falling into place, muhuhaha!

Congrats for that!

This week I was stress-testing the build, 256 vehicles in a level. I’d love to say at ran at 60fps! Haha.

Our November 2014 development update is live:

Latest screenshots and new logo:

we’re a Melbourne-based indie video game developer

Well, but your work doesn´t count anymore as indie.

this stuff you present here is mind blowing! I would buy this game within a second if its out! It looks sometimes even better than the original ;).

would love to see more from the work of you guys!

Haha thanks so much Prometheus88! We’re definitely indie in that we’re a small team of five working remotely and self-publishing the project, but we’re definitely trying to draw on our experience with AAA games to make something that stands out from the crowd a bit. Glad to hear it’s well-received!

Well this is exciting:

Looks like we’re coming to GDC to showcase Space Dust Racers at the Unreal Engine booth (#1024 South)! Here’s the latest gameplay trailer:

Looking forward to meeting some other UE4 devs in the field!

We’re super excited to announce Space Dust Racers is now on Kickstarter! You can check us out here, including a demo of our smartphone controller plugin for UE4 that allows us to squeeze up to 16 players in one room:

You can help us out heaps by sharing the project on social media with your friends. Thanks a lot!

Steam Greenlight now up as well: Steam Community :: Error

Thanks for your support everyone

Good luck !

Wish you the best of luck .

Thanks everyone - we ended up not reaching our goal unfortunately, but we’ve decided to move straight to Steam early access instead - feels like a much better fit for us as the game is really quite close to being ready to share with the public. What a huge learning experience the whole thing has been though, and it’s resulted in some surprising developments so we’re still happy and moving ahead.

Here’s a recent playtest video showing us battling it out on Clawtopia, we’re pretty happy with how the gameplay is feeling now, we just need to flesh out the frontend framework around it and put in a bit more polish across the board:

Here’s a few new screenshots of our latest map Transporter. Simple tracks are the best! The weather variations affect gameplay too.

This is really cool! Man I can’t wait to play it in my living room!

Haha thanks for the kind words everyone, always nice to hear. It’s hard when you’re in the thick of development to see the wood from the trees, so hearing little words of encouragement like these make all the difference!

Today I spent the whole day switching over our name from Space Dust Racers to Obliteracers. We decided to change it for a bunch of reasons (outlined here), and the response so far has been really positive.

Not long now till we get this baby out on Steam, followed by Xbox One/PS4.

The controller tech is working solid now, and we’ve just finished adding a single player career mode.

How’s everyone else doing on their projects?
