[WIP] RnG (Project-Canon)

Hello community,

today TeamFMG (Flavio, Nafil, Mohid and Achim) would like to introduce our main project RnG and we want to know what you guys think about it.

It’s a third person shooter where you play as the protagonist Gevin, a sci-fi low poly stylized character. To make the game more challenging Gevin has to keep moving all the time! This is achieved by a charging level that you see as a player always on the HUD, it will fill up once you kill enemies, keep sprinting or use the parkour movemements (wall run, dash, sliding and vaulting).

The charging level will go down if you fight against enemies with different fire modes or if you keep standing still. Gevin has hightech canon that allows him to quickly change between the fire modes rifle, shotgun … more we will share later. :wink: Additionally, he can heal himself with a sword katana slash attack if you he kills enemies with that mechanic.

Thank you so much for sharing your project with us! This gameplay had me so amped and had my heart pumping nitro fuel! This is totally giving me Seek. Kill. Destroy.

I love the unsettling, high tension, escaping death at every turn, rapid fire activity! This induced my parasympathetic nerve to flee for my virtual life!
LOL! :scream: The gripping music greatly compliments the panic inducing gameplay.

How did you all meet? Have any of you ever participated in an escape room or panic room activity? Have any of you ever played paintball?

Hello, I’m the Lead Designer and BP dev on this project. We’re very happy that you liked this project :smiley:

We’ve never done any of the activities, I personally wanted to get into Airsoft but there aren’t any Airsoft areas near me :sweat_smile:

I did some escape rooms in the past and really liked it. :ok_hand:

Paintball is still something I want to do as well jut so far it did not yet happen.

I basically met Sam through his YouTube channel as I while I was doing some research about horde games and resident evil gameplay. We somehow then stayed in touch and participating on multiple game jams. During the one where we created Unbekannt, we decided to work on the same project. So RnG was born and Duality was created during the last j we participated. Happily Sam’s brother is an very talented artist and can bring to stuff to life in blender. He created and designed the main character of RnG, Gevin. Additionally, Sam ans I integrated it into Unreal and put the player logic around it. Sam dies the tweaking and scripting and I try to code the reusable C++ part. Long story short I’m very happy how things are going currently and our team has a ton of skills that play well together.

Additionally, somehow Flavio joined our team as well during this year. He basically contacted us on Insta and we are so happy that he takes care about music and sound effects. He created the music and some sound effects for duality, which brought a lot more immersive to the game. :ok_hand:

One of the visions is to bring out a first demo that is playable and will be freely available for the community. Then we will look further.

Also one main concept we try to follow is to make the combat very fluent, challenging and of course you have to keep moving. :wink:

Additionally, we hope that we can bring the game to a state where it is really fun to play. :ok_hand:

Ans also thank you guys for giving us so much love. It really keeps us motivated to finish the project and release it hopefully soon. We are slightly behind our own schedule. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
