I started this project a while ago after replaying Morrowind for the hundredth time
At first I wanted to create just a bust of random dunmer guy. Next I thought of recreating the whole morrowind intro in prison ship in UE5 using metahuman rig, and Nvidia Audio2Face for lipsync, which looked like a simple task at first…
But then it turned out that animation which comes out of audio2face need some serious work to make it look acceptable, and that biggest challenge is body animation…(when you don’t have mocap)
As references for face I used photos of native people of Siberia, Kazakhstan and North America
As a huge fan of TES, I was so excited to see your Dunmer character! I have the TES collection for PC and have yet to play Morrowind, but after seeing the quality of your character, I want him for my game! LOL!
What are your favorite mods for Morrowind? If you had access to mocap, would you attempt to expand your WIP?
I’m not a big fan of modding. For some reason after I install mods on any of TES games I don’t want to play anymore
Last time I played almost vanilla morrowind, with fullrest graphics overhaul and no gameplay mods.
You can try Arktwend: The Forgotten Realm, which is a total conversion like Enderal for Skyrim, from same developers.
Another one that I remember is tamriel rebuilt. It adds continental part of morrowind with new quests, cities etc
As for mocap - yeah, I would try to finish it for sure if I had access to mocap
Ah, I see! There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a game vanilla, as the game studio intended. Some mods do seem a bit extreme. For me, after I’ve played a game vanilla a few times, the mods make me feel like I’m extending the game for new adventures. I agree - the lighting and graphics mods are breathtaking! Thank you so much for the mod recommendations!
What’s next for you? Are there any areas of game development that you would like to challenge yourself to achieve?
