Here’s a very early look at the helmet. Still plenty to do, this is just the current blockout for the most part.
More progress done on the helmet. Added a few attachments - Targeting Designator, Mount System and Antenna. =)

I’m definitely aiming to have this released before the end of the year. While I haven’t posted an update in a couple weeks, I’m still hard at work on the product. Currently I’ve been doing retopology and UV mapping, so it isn’t something that’s particularly exciting or newsworthy. =P More frequent updates will resume once I’ve begun bringing the assets in engine and start playing around with the material customization, etc.
My goal is to submit it sometime in November, barring any unforeseen hiccups. The marketplace team is usually quick with approving products, but given this is something that’s sort of a new archetype/category it may take a bit longer than the usual process. But it’s absolutely my hope people will be able to start using this before the end of this year. =)
After a long process of retopologizing and uv mapping a multitude of customizable assets, I’m happy to be back in UE4. =P
Here’s an early glimpse at the customizable materials for the pack. You’ll not only be able to tweak individual colors through multiple ID masks, but scratches and wear, grime, dirt, detail normals etc. to really personalize the assets and give them a unique touch.
Each piece will utilize the material layer system to provide high quality detail. Furthermore I will be providing texture bakes for users who may want to create their own custom baked materials in programs such as Mixer. =)
Question.
Will it be rigged to Metahuman Skeleton or UE4 skeleton ?
I would prefer Metahuman Skeleton or both (;.
Because it’s being designed specifically to work with MetaHuman bodies it will be rigged to MetaHuman skeletons. =)
Here’s some more progress on the pack. Managed to get one of the base armor variations in. The undersuit is still unfinished but I threw it in there for demonstration purposes. Going to be moving onto equipment/weapons and accessories after I implement the visors. The material instances for these pieces are probably the most customizable I’ve done yet. So many options to fine tune in here. =)
More progress shots. Added the fast mag, pistol holster, grenade/smoke pouches, thigh pouches and molle pouch. Will move onto weapons and remaining equipment next. =)
Made more progress with the equipment. Added the frag grenade, smoke grenade, knife with sheath & axe with sheath/holster. Was able to add the pouches I did earlier to some of the example outfits now that they’re filled.
All that’s left to finish is the decal pass on the equipment and armor. I’ll be including branding/designs and signs for those who may want to have those details right out of the box, but they will be totally optional so if you want to implement your own branding or designs you won’t be forced to use the designs I include.
After the decal pass it’s straight to the undersuit. Right now it’s just straight out of Marvelous with barely any detail, and I also want to try a few different design changes and possibly add more pockets throughout the outfit. The undersuit will be something devs will be able to utilize with the armor, as well as alone so I want it to be able to stand out on its own if need be.

Thanks man! Yeah modularity in this pack is a huge focus for me. Anyone who knows my work knows that is always a staple of my products, but I really wanted to push it even further with this pack especially with regards to building upon it with follow ups like I’ve done with my environment assets.
I’ve got some pretty cool things in store for the character packs. =)

I actually had to switch over to my game development right after the last update for a few weeks. I just recently switched gears back to the marketplace though and have already gotten the undersuit and a good portion of its customization in engine. There are a few more options I want to include and then I should be able to post another sizeable update. I’m extremely close to wrapping this up, I just want to make sure I offer as much value as possible. =)

It’s been a while since my last update on my upcoming pack, but I’m excited to share that I will finally be submitting it to the UE4 Marketplace this week!
As we get closer to the release date I will publish a comprehensive blog post that will go into great detail about what you’re getting in the pack, and what the future for this new endeavor into customizable Meta Human character armor will entail. Until then, here are a few new screenshots showcasing the versatility in the customization. It was a lot of fun moving between different distinct looks be it grounded or hard scifi when working on the preset character outfits. There will be 9 included at launch. =)
