Hi 2 months later of using windows - I am fed up with this useless spyware
Anything above windows 7 has been proven to be a virus/malware spyware, I know I can get Linux and set up UE5 on there but is there any chance to make UE5 compatible with Win 7? UE5 is the only reason I had to “upgrade” to windows 10 and ever since life has not been the same
I tried running UE5 on Win7 there is many issues, first is the fact it cant even compile
I will have to get Linux eventually, Microsoft is legally collecting all our keystrokes, audio and mines our CPU through windows 10
You have no other options then… Windows 7 is a 13 year old operating system. As for the all spyware malware paranoid mythology, you’re not important enough for them to care about anything you do on your PC. All the OSes “spy” on you if you count anonymous telemetry as spying.
If you have a CPU made within the past decade, AMD or Intel, they run their own custom version of Linux OS internally that has ring -1 level control and can continue running even when you unplug the PC (residual power in capacitors and the motherboard battery). Intel Management Engine and AMD Secure Technology. They can intercept every single piece of data that flows through your PC and even modulate what your regular operating system thinks it sees. They have access to the internet and can record every single stroke you make on your keyboard, even if the PC is unplugged. They can’t be disabled, even if you managed to on an Intel PC, the PC will force shutdown after like three minutes. They can read any encryption keys that pass through the CPU, etc etc. Do I need to continue?
The point is, it’s 2022 and you get two options: Take off the tinfoil hat and get with the times or keep the tinfoil hat on and be stuck with not being to use modern things.
I can confirm that it works. As of 5.2, it’s basically as simple as replacing 3rd party dep with a compatible one and patching a single byte in a file with a hex editor
