Windows 11: It is no longer obvious how to open your project with a specific version.

Good Morning,

This isn’t so much a question as an answer.

In previous versions of windows you would right click on your unreal project and you could open said project with a specific version of Unreal. That is no longer the case.

In order to do this you know have to click “Show More Options” at the bottom of the drop down. Now you will be presented with the option to switch unreal versions.

Hope this Helps.

Arthur

I just switch to Windows 11, and yes I do not have the option to choose the Unreal Version. It is always using the latest version of Unreal (5.3).

I tried “Show More Options” and still there is no option for that.
Anyone has the same problem like me?

I got it to work. The bit of information that was missing in the original post is that you have to select the project in the Windows Explorer, and then use “Show More Options” in the context menu there.

I was looking for it in the Library section of the Epic Games Launcher…

WIN11: No way to switch Unrealversion:

Same problem here, it used to work showing more option but finaly the option disappeared on window 11. Someone have a solution please?

it exist but make sure you are make it open with Unreal engine by default not the Unreal Editor

go to open With and chose the Unreal engine

then right click on it then Show more options then you’ll find the the Generation options
