Will this work from Archicad 26 on macOS into Twinmotion on Windows 11? Due to Path Tracer limitation, I am looking to build a PC workstation for TM. Thanks.

Hey Alex - you can work on the same file between Mac and Windows given that you are using the same TM version on both machines.

Thank you, Emre.

My question was about using the two computers together with the Datasmith plugin. Do you think it can live-update the Twinmotion file on the Windows machine from the Archicad model on the Mac?

Thank you again, Emre.

Dropbox is what I was also thinking. But instructing TM to read off a relocated folder sounds beyond my capability. If you think that any work already done within the Twinmotion file won't be lost every time I re-export from Archicad, then I think I can live with that.

I see. I think this would be quite tricky - as far as I know the plugin saves a local temp folder for TM to read, so the other machine won't be able to access this folder unless somehow there is a way to relocate this temp folder to a server location. For a workflow between different machines, I often use the datasmith export feature (instead of syncing directly) and it works entirely fine. I save my export to dropbox and then load it from the other machine. If you have both machines at the same location you would probably use a server instead.

so ive found the way to change the cache folder. technically you could set this to a dropbox location. i'm not sure whether twinmotion establishes the connection to a host program by this cache or whether it does it directly.

the exporting a datasmith file method definitely works. see here:
