Will my laptop handle UE5 jobs?

Hello everyone, I am just starting my journey as a game dev, but I am trying to find out if my laptop will be able to handle my first few jobs as a game dev.

These are my specs:

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz
  • RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 - Laptop GPU
  • Memory: 1T SSD

I know that some companies send business PCs to their employees, but I currently live in LATAM, so I don’t think that will be an option for the moment.

Please let me know, I am very excited, and I just want to decide if going for Unity or UE5.

Regards.

Hello @Leandromsi01

Welcome to the Unreal Engine forums! Glad to have you part of the community! In regards to your laptop specs, it should be fine. Here’s a post with all of the official requirements for Unreal Engine 5. I hope this is helpful!

Thanks!

Do you have any suggestions on where/how should I start my journey?

For the moment, this is my plan:

  1. Do as many UE5 tutorials as I can
  2. Learn C++ (at the same time)
  3. Create at least 5 projects

Is there any training course that I could follow? Not because of the certification, but because of the way things are structured.

Let me know!
