Will Meta Quest Pro or HTC Vive XR Elite get on the supported VR headsets list any time soon?

Hello,

I work in architecture office and we intend to buy a VR headset in the near future that will mostly be used with Twinmotion, to present our projects to the clients.

We recently had the chance to test out the Oculus Quest 2 with Twinmotion and by doing that we realized that we definitely want something with more clarity, better resolution and a more comfortable fit. For that reason Meta Quest Pro or HTC Vive XR Elite seem to be good (and futureproof) choices except they are not on the supported VR headsets for Twinmotion list, and we were wondering if by any chance they will get on that list in the near future.

Thanks in advance!

Marian

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community your questions about VR head sets we support and which ones we are planning to support. At this time we have not tested the Meta Quest Pro but plan on doing so and adding it to the compatible list. We believe it should work based on the information we have.

The HTC Vive XR Elite is not out yet and I am not sure if there are any plans for supporting it and recommend asking on the road-map: https://portal.productboard.com/7pu88c9kpmqtzt8hwg6arujh/tabs/4-under-consideration

Many headset if they use the Windows mixed reality, Vive Console VR/Steam VR, or Oculus VR should all work identically. However when there are special features for certain headset devices we need to look into them specifically.

In the latest version of Twinmotion 2023.1 Preview 1 we added the OpenXR compatibility.

We also recommend the high-end configurations for VR use with Twinmotion:

Hope this helps.

Hi. I have a Meta Quest Pro. I am getting somewhat acceptable performance using the Air Link connection.

The controllers seem to be oddly oriented in relation to the menu and navigation system. This puts the handheld menu at an odd angle as well. (is there any way to hide that menu?) Also, the controller 3D models are incorrect, but I expect you will get around to fixing that at some point.

Is there any VR navigation other than teleport? I want to walk around using the joysticks. Is this supported in other headsets?

Thank you for the reply! It's very helpful!

Hello ,

We have since received the new Meta Quest Pro and completed our first round successfully. We did not identify any behaviors that would indicate a particular issue with using it with Twinmotion compared to the Oculus Quest 2. We will be updating our support VR headset documentation accordingly.

Best regards,

Vincent B.

Hello,

I purchased Meta Qest Pro and tried to view my Twinmotion VR project through it. But it doesn't recognize the headset. Is it still under the updating process for the next version release? Then how long do you expect until the next update release?

Thanks!

Joon

Hello ,

Thank you for the follow-up message and at this time I have logged a bug about a strange angle with the controller but there is not a way to hide the menu other than to move your hand down. Additionally at this time you can only teleport in VR mode. You can make suggestions on the road-map here: https://portal.productboard.com/7pu88c9kpmqtzt8hwg6arujh/tabs/4-under-consideration

Kind regards,

Vincent B.

Thanks Vincent. Appreciate the followup.

Hello ,

Thank you for the message and sorry to hear its not working for you.

Open the Oculus app and put on the headset connect the VR headset to the computer in the VR mode, wired is preferred.

Make sure OpenXR Runtime is set for oculus in the Oculus app General settings.

Start Twinmotion then the VR icon should be visible to launch.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Vincent B.
