Overview
Hello, I am the founder of the hopeful game development company “Wildfire”, this is not just a company, but a community of aspiring developers and artists who can come together, with their own content, and feel free to implement their ideas and logics into a game, we are forming together. The name “Wildfire”, is merely a placeholder, it is just a spark, a boat into an oblivion until we as a team construct the name that defines every single one of us.
I am creating this Work-In-Progress forum, because of this development community, is a work-in-progress. Currently, I am looking into the many vast genres to explore as a very first game title under our name. The different genres I’ve looked at closely were the Fighting and Adventure. Two very different genres, with their own setup. I’ve decided to not have that completely confirmed because as a community, we will discuss the pros and cons of diving into any one of these genres too deeply. However, there is a completed, and fully fleshed GDD for both of the genres of selection. Upon your interest, you will have the opportunity to look at the GDD closely, and submit which one you would feel more honored, and comfortable to work with.
To develop this game, we are obviously using the Unreal Engine, specifically 4.15. However, development will most likely start in 4.14, then venture to the grounded 4.15. It is a very good practice to stay within one engine version. In order, to keep the projects and versions of the projects up-to-date, we will be using a number of Production Pipeline services, provided by me. One of those being, The Shotgun Software, which you can find here https://www.shotgunsoftware.com/
This will allow us, to set consistent deadlines, and work times for each of our tasks we have.
The way that development will go for the production will be set in milestones, but most importantly in terms of releasing. There is a certain point, where the game needs to be out of alpha, and ready to start adding art. There will also need to be a point, in which we move away from the clunky prototype gameplay and start polishing things. So for instance, after a couple of months, we should have a base of product (Level, for the adventure/Gameplay, for Fighter), that is ready to be shown to more Artist, so they can feel confident about delving into the project, and so on and so fourth.
