Widget interaction on cylinder distorted 3D widget

So I have an issue with using the widget interaction component and using the mouse to dictate where to hover on a 3D widget attached to camera.

Because the 3D widget is cylindrically distorted, the interaction arrow doesn’t aim where the users mouse actually is overlapping the 3D widget.

Is there any workaround for this?

Epic is aware of the issue, but there aren’t too many votes to solve it. Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-49592)
