Widget Flickering at Top of Screen

Hi there!

Whenever, I call a widget into the viewport (any widget), I get a constant flickering at the top of the screen. I’ve tried this over and over and I’m not sure if its a scripting issue or not but I can’t seem to fix it.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
I highlighted the flickering/distortion with a red box. I also attached the BP format I use, its rather simple so maybe something is missing there.

Hello ,

I was unable to reproduce this issue on our end. I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of and blueprints/widgets that may be involved (part of your blueprint above is cut off and I cannot see what is calling the widget)?

Well I can’t be a 100% sure that you are getting this issue but they have suggested a fix . Please check out this post

Hi Rudy! Thank you for your assistance.

I was able to replicate the issue into a clean project.

Please see attached:

Regards,

And here is the other picture:

You can see the graphic distortion at the very top.

Hi there Gupta!

I saw this previously but was hoping it was only iOS-related.

Also, I’m seeing these distortions pre-packaging in clean projects. I’m starting to maybe suspect its perhaps a graphic driver error on my end.

Regards,

graphics driver error hmmm… I cant be too sure

Hello ,

Thank you for the additional information, however I am not seeing this issue on our end. Was the test done in the latest version of the engine? If not, could you try try and reproduce this issue in the latest release of the engine and let me know if you are still seeing the same issue?

Hello again Rudy,

This was done on the latest, updated verson of the engine, yes.
I have a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX graphics driver, fully updated, if that may be the issue.

Regards,

Could you provide a zipped down version of the project that is able to reproduce this issue so that I could take a closer look? This can be done by attaching it in a reply or providing a link to google drive or drop box.

Thank you again for your assistance, Rudy.

I’ve uploaded a zipped copy of the a new, clean project where I’m still experiencing the graphics error.

Regards,

After downloading the project provided I am still unable to reproduce this issue on our end. Are there any special settings/ or actions that are taken when opening the project or testing that may be contributing to the issue?

Hi Rudy,

There are no special setting at all. From what I’ve gathered, this is a specific issue with the graphics driver that, strangely, only impacts Widgets in the viewport.

It’s certainly not a game-breaking issue, of course, but something I wanted to report nevertheless.

Thank you for reporting the issue, however without a reproducible test case on our end I cannot log a report for this issue. I will be marking your last comment as the answer for this post for tracking purposes. If at any point you or anyone else has additional information on how to reproduce this issue on our end please feel free to reopen this thread with a reply containing said information and I will be happy to assist you further.
