Why on earth are we limited to 16,384 Landscape if we are using Edit layers???

I am curious why the decision to limit us to a 16384 landscape in Unreal 5.*. Now, yes you can go larger if you don’t want to use editable layers. Doesn’t seem like Unreal is moving forward seems like its moving backwards. Nanite and lumen are not all they’re cracked up to be. But thats another subject all together. We are supposed to be able to create “Huge” worlds, this doesnt seem possible without a bunch of coding hoops to jump through at least not with UE5. We’re almost better off sticking with 4.26. Its getting frustrating, not to mention that instead of fixing 5.0.3 we have now 5.1 and 5.2! If I am wrong please point me in the correct direction.

I don’t think you quite grasp any of the basics behind landscape, and I’m surely not going to try and explain it yet again. Look up old forum topics / try and learn.

In short: Don’t use the landscape.

In slightly longer: Landscape has always been badly engineered, And it’s been a constant issue since 4.18 dropped.

Do with that what you will.
