Hello I have already posted about this, and still looking for solutions,
• hardware reminder for the Mac version:
Mac Pro 2009 12 cores 3.47ghz, 96 gigabytes of ram, GPU Radeon VII 16 gigabytes of Vram, upgrade 2012 + OCLP to be able to install Mac OS 12 (Monterey) and therefore use Twinmotion 2023. I also specify that everything runs on NVME SSD (PCIe)
on version 2023.1 no problems on the Mac, no crashes.
On the other hand, on 2023.2, repeated crashes and crashes, impossible to work; as well as a message when launching twinmotion telling me that my hardware is not powerful enough and that I therefore risk crashes.
• I have a 2nd MacPro identical in CPU but only 16 gigabytes of Ram + GPU Vega 56 8 gigabytes of Vram and running Mac OS X.14 (Mojave) on DD with platters.
I installed Windows 10 Pro (only Windows 10 Pro supports dual processors) via Boot Camp in dual boot.
and there miracle Twinmotion 2023.2 does not show me a message at launch to tell me that my hardware is too slow, and above all, it does not crash like on Mac. Limen works well, yesterday I rendered a video of 1mn 15s with the “Lake House retreat” example file as a basis, the calculation lasted 1h10.
disappointed with problems on Mac
I would be curious to get feedback from Mac users and Twinmotion 2023.2

Hello! we also have repeated crashes on iMac (2020, AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB) with Twinmotion 2023.2 community edition. We don’t understand if it’s because of Sonoma update or it’s Twinmotion’s fault. We don’t have any messages about lack of power. Did you find any solution?
Good evening, I don’t think Sonoma is the cause, my Mac Pro runs under Monterey.
it’s probably a Software problem, as explained in my first message, TM 2023.2 runs much better under Windows 10 via bootcamp on the same Macpro.
the ball is in Epic Game’s court.
Hi everyone,
We are aware of a specific GPU Crash affecting MacOS.
Our engineering team is working on a fix that we hope to be able to deploy soon.
Thanks.
Good evening,
thank you for worrying about MAC users, after a lot of testing, if the working file is not too heavy, and by managing the rendering quality well in preview, it is almost manageable.
but nothing to do with what I can do under Windows
Hello,
we do face similar problems with stability and repeated crashes on our Intel-based Mac hardware (iMac Pros), but almost no problems on an ARM (M1) MacBook Pro.
The funny thing is that Twinmotion is not (yet) ARM native…
Hello,
update available yesterday for version 2023.2 (600 MB)
pleasant surprise, Twinmotion is much more stable, after 1 hour of testing, no crash, everything is faster.
with the example file “Lake House Retreat” the difference is clear, before for the same scene, I was at the max at 30 fps, after the update I went to 60 fps, the overall performance remained around 30% used.
as a reminder, my config: MacPro 2009 up 2012 bipro 3.46ghz (12 cores) under Mac OS 12 (Monterey) installed on NVME 1 Terra SSD;
96 gigabytes of Ram, Radeon VII GPU, 16 gigabytes of vRam.
For the moment I see that things are going in the right direction. as long as it lasts.
Hello REGIS_PORTAL,
Where can we find this Update??
Regards
Roman
Update: It will install itself via the Epic games launcher.
Hy Roman-PS
were you able to do this little update?
have you noticed an improvement, stability and performance?
Hi Regis,
Thanks for asking! Yes, the update was installed.
TM became noticeably more stable, but not entirely. It is still far away from a robust, rock-solid application. You must always be aware that the next click/action may cause a sudden crash.
Hello,
I have just discovered a new problem concerning Twinmotion + Lumen, the roughness / reflection does not work for me on Mac OS Monterey 12.7.1.
I have a windows 10 pro partition via bootcamp on the mac, with the same hardware, and the same version of Twinmotion, the roughness works well. I attach an image of the result of my observation.
have you noticed this problem?? I also ask Mac users the question. THANKS
Good morning,
on MAC (intel) despite the latest update 2023.2.1, the roughness (shininess) adjustment works very poorly, and does not give the same results as under Windows (see capture in previous message)
I am speaking to other MAC users, do you also notice this malfunction?
Hello again,
I found the solution concerning the reflection of materials in LUMEN rendering, it is in the “view distance” setting that the parameters are different between Windows and Mac. the setting under Mac must be set to minimum or almost, carry out tests to obtain the right result.
