Why just 1st order ambisonics?

Hi,

since version 4.25 there is nativ ambisonics support in Unreal Engine, but only 1st order. But there are also plugins, resonance audio from Google and Oculus Audio from Facebook/Oculus. But they also just support 1st order ambisonics. Can someone tell me why they do not support higher order ambisonics? Is it because of hardware limitation?
