Why isn't prone a default movement?

Hi, why isn’t prone a standard/default movement?

A couple reasons:

a. It functions differently in pretty much every game and (usually) requires knowledge of the character’s exact shape. In it’s simplest form (decrease capsule size), it’s very easy to implement yourself.

b. Not many games actually need it.

c. The previous EPIC games that used the default character movement controller didn’t need it, so we didn’t get to take Epic’s previous development for free.
There’s no prone movement in Unreal Tournament :wink:
