Why is the playlist "All UE4 Tutorials" kinda messy ?

Hello ,

I was looking for some tutorials and what’s better than the UE4 channel in youtube ? so when I entered the channel as a normal person looking for tutorials normally will click on “All UE4 Tutorials” because the name says that it should contain all tutorials! when I entered I said to myself , oh ok that’s something , first we started in programming which is ok because I know a little of c++ , I’ve used it for 6 months , no problem , the girl start explaining and she sometime uses variables/functions that are provided from UE4 but she doesn’t actually explains what is it , like static mesh , as a person that worked for the first time in 3D graphics I wouldn’t actually know what is it , so I said ok maybe I’ll do a little research and find out , I continued the tutorial until some guy starts working in blueprint and stuff and he drags and drops things without actually telling what is it , I checked the comment section and there’re people that don’t know what’s going on either , shouldn’t the tutorials be in order instead of this ?

Now I’m using Mastering the Art of Unreal Engine 4 which is nice and free for this forum , but it doesn’t explain in code which I prefer.

So what do you guys think ? should I learn from some other place ? for now to be honest I want to continue reading this book , it’s actually really nice but where should I go after that ? the book isn’t that big I’m almost half way.

Again please , if someone can tell them to edit that playlist it would actually help lots of people , at least put a reference to blogs that explain the things we’re doing in the description.

Since people are having issues the reason for it I believe is because they released it whenever they released the blog posts themselves and just throw it into the “All Tutorials”. They seem to be perfectly in order in the other specific playlists;

If you’re talking about there explanations I’m pretty sure they explain them if not they might expect you to know the basics. It’s all in the documentation that explains it all. Like the static mesh is like any other mesh except it’s not possible to animate, etc.

Because organization in playlists lists and not in “All tutorials” playlist :stuck_out_tongue:

:wink: In my opinion that way how they do their tutorials is the best one -> you have to find out own stuff which will bring you deeper into game development

But normally the tutorials on youtube are a good place to start -> e.g when you want to go into setting up a character you could take a look at the third person series: level design: https://www.youtube/playlist?list=PLZlv_N0_O1gak1_FoAJVrEGiLIploeF3F

Thanks if the right order is from the oldest to the newest then I’ll start watching them again ^^

:smiley: well they should have renamed this playlist :smiley: , that’s like giving some ideas and explaining different things and then releasing a book containing all these things but not in order :smiley:

I think i’ll start watching from the oldest to the newest hopefully this is the right order.
