I was following a tutorial I found on YouTube and this is the blueprint I made. I was just wondering why the ‘is Valid’ node is needed and why I should I include it in the future.

The ‘is valid’ is not checking anything, so you were right to question it, and can remove it.
As ClockworkOcean said nothing is actually being checked there, so you could remove it.
That said, usually one would check if the GetPawnOwner is valid there, so you can preview the animations by manually tweaking preview variables in the editor.
Sorry for the late reply! And thank you! I thought so too, so I removed it and it worked fine. That’s why I questioned it
