Why is my player game speed different

I have two maps they’re practically identical but one map has a different walk speed for the character and the player character can’t be selected?

Does anyone have any idea?

Hey there @Delta1! Going to need a little more information to assess your issue.

Is the player BP the same for both maps?

What do you meant the player couldn’t be selected? Does the client freeze when you select them? Are they not selectable in game through the viewport alone or can you not select them from the outliner as well?

Pictures or video help with these kind of posts immensely if possible!

Hi SE,

The player BP is the first person one for both maps.

This is strange although I can now select the first person character BP now for both maps, When i change walk speed

It doesn’t seem to have any effect in the second map?

Hmmm that’s a bit odd. Are you changing the character’s values in the outliner, at runtime, or in the blueprint’s defaults? The only one that will retain info between levels is the blueprints default specifically.

I’m changing it in the bp specifically, however the game mode for both maps is set to none, when I change it to first person it still has no effect in the second map

Is there a game mode override in one or the other’s world settings? That could force a player to spawn against the project settings’ wishes.

Are there any other scripts that modify the player speed in either of the levels?

I’m intrigued! I’ll take any info you can give. Like the player BP, the gamemode settings for the project and the levels, and anything that spawns or modifies the player BP or it’s movement.

No nothing that differs between either project, although a friend on the forums may have diagnosed it, he feels it’s the use of some static meshes used as a grass terrain that are causing it.

If I delete both from both levels it does seem to return to normal.

I hugely appreciate all your kind help with this in any case
